In the afternoon of May 28, 2024,Henan Institute of Science and Technology (HIST) held an appointment signing ceremony in Room 1215 of its Administration Building on the afternoon of May 29th. The university formally appointed ProfessorAN Yuhua, a Senior Policy Advisor to the President of South Korea and Research Fellow at the Capital Market Institute, as its Distinguished Professor.

ProfessorAN Yuhua, along with her team members Moon Ji-Eun and Kim Yoon-Jeong, attended the ceremony. Representing HIST were Vice President Liu Quanyong, Director of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation Feng Xia,DeputyDean of the School of Economics and Management Chen Junmin, and relevant staff members. Director Feng Xia presided over the ceremony.

During the ceremony, Vice President Liu Quanyong warmly welcomed Professor AN. He highly commended her outstanding achievements and profound influence as an internationally renowned scholar in finance and policy advisory, particularly in the fields ofFin-tech, international finance, capital markets, and China-South Korea financial cooperation research. Vice President Liu expressed the university's sincere hope that Professor An would leverage her deep academic expertise and extensive international network to provide high-level guidance and support for the development of the School of Economics and Management. Subsequently, Vice President Liu Quanyong and ProfessorAN Yuhuajointly signed the Distinguished Adjunct Professor Appointment Agreement.

Professor AN Yuhua expressed her sincere gratitude for the appointment. She stated that this honor not only represented a prestigious recognition but also marked the beginning of a new chapter in collaboration between the parties. Professor Ahn elaborated on her philosophy that "knowledge transcends borders, and cooperation creates the future," emphasizing that the core of education lies in "inspiring, empowering, and enabling individuals." She proposed several key areas for future collaboration, including:

Joint research in international economics and management;

Development of cutting-edge financial technology courses and practical platforms;

Facilitating research and communication between young scholars and business communities in China and South Korea; and

Exploring emerging fields such as digital finance,block-chaintechnology applications, and green investment.
