About YES
The “Young Envoys Scholarship” (YES)program was initially announcedby Chinese President Xi Jinpingin November 2023 in San Francisco. The initiative provides a nurturing environment for young people to move and see the world. The program came into being to support this powerful initiative, and China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) is serving as the primary coordinating entity of YES program.
The program is an integrated information hub that consolidates resources from numerous Chinese educational institutions, including all school levels across China’s different regions, with a view to being an effective mechanism to help students from American campuses to find their ideal overseas programs and opportunities in China. Participants in YES are able to gain cross-cultural competencies in a diverse range of academic settings with hands-on adventures, while engaging in valuable educational experiences that can earn credits.
Depending on the programs, there also will be opportunities to obtain a degree or transfer credits to the home institutions. Please consult with the specific program and check with your home school’s transfer policies.

I. Officially Recognized with Cost Sharing
Henan Institute of Science and Technology actively responds to the YES initiative by leveraging Henan Province's rich intangible cultural heritage resources and profound cultural heritage to create the HIST-YES Special Cultural Program. International study groups participating in this program will receive an official invitation letter from the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) and only need to cover international travel and insurance expenses. All costs for accommodation, transportation, and study courses during their stay in China will be borne by HIST.
II. Intangible Cultural Heritage Bases and Specialized Courses
This program focuses on preserving and promoting China's outstanding traditional culture. Through curriculum development, club activities, workshop practices, scientific research innovation, and cultural exchanges, it integrates local Henan intangible cultural heritage elements—such as Ru porcelain, pressed flower art, dyeing and batik techniques, thread-wrapped flowers, lacquered fans, Tai Chi, dragon and lion dance, and Yue Family Boxing—into the study experience, forming a diverse cultural education system.
